A wine that warms: Amarone della Valpolicella is undoubtedly one of the most intense red wines in the world. The mostly heavy drop is still considered a youth among the Italian wine classics. On the palate the Amarone is seductively sweet and spicy; at the same time it is also a dry, fully fermented wine. The opulent Northern Italian („amaro“ = Ital. for „bitter“) has met with a steadily growing group of followers since the end of the 1930s. The Amarone has long since been described as a powerful and elegant red wine in the same breath with the "royal wines" Brunello, Barolo and Barbaresco.
